About the club

Basketball at the foot of the Mournes

Mourne Basketball Club is a community club based in Newcastle, County Down. We were founded to bring the whole community together through basketball, and we cater for boys from age 8 right through to senior men.

From our youngest players taking their first shots to our senior men competing in Basketball NI leagues, the club is a place to learn the game, make friends and be part of something. We've now moved into our home at Shimna Integrated College, where all of our sessions take place.

Our mission: to foster passion, inspire participation and achieve performance.

Our sessions

We've moved into our new facility at Shimna Integrated College — all sessions at all levels take place here. Spaces are limited, so please book as early as you can.

Monday — Under 10s, 5:45pm–7:00pm · Under 16s, 8:00pm–9:15pm
Tuesday — Under 14s, 7:45pm–9:00pm
Wednesday — Under 12s, 6:00pm–7:15pm · Seniors, 7:15pm–8:45pm

Get involved

We are always on the lookout for new players, volunteers and coaches.

Players

Boys aged 8 to senior men — come along and take to the court. Some age groups fill up fast.

Volunteers & coaches

Share your time and skills and help the club grow. No experience necessary — just enthusiasm.
